I Can Crawl!!

I am learning new things every day!!

On Thursday the 4th December, I took my first long-range crawl, while I was at Nanny G's. (I think the carpet helped!) Suddenly, the world is mine, all mine!

This was me crawling last weekend!

I'm doing lots of standing, too - in my cot, by the couch, using Mummy's or Daddy's legs....

I can even stay up using only one hand for balance!

Summer is here, but we had a really cold day a little while ago. My head was cold, but I wasn't too sure about my beanie...

Last weekend, we had our Christmas get-together with Nan T, Uncle Matt, Auntie Bron and Grace and Lucy! It was great fun and we went to the Botanical Gardens. I even got to open my first ever Christmas present, which was a beautiful book. After lunch, we went to the Japanese Garden, and saw some tiny ducklings. We saw one of them walk across a lily pad!

Grace and Lucy took turns to push me about in my pram. I just sat and looked cool in my sunnies!

I've learnt to clap my hands, and will do it whenever someone says "Clap Hands" or "Wave" (I think I'll get the hang of waving, soon!).

One of my favourite things to do with Mum and Dad right now is to visit our vegie garden and see how all the vegies are growing. I can't wait to eat some of them!

I graduated from Swimming classes yesterday! I didn't miss a lesson, and I love it so much! I even got a certificate!

I'm reading lots of books every day, too! Mummy lets me turn the pages, but sometimes I'm a bit impatient and want to look at the next page before she's finished the one we're on! This book is the one Grace, Lucy, Uncle Matt and Auntie Bronnie gave me.

It's a whole new world..........

It's been another big few weeks for little old me! I'm so experienced at sitting up all by myself, that Mummy's finally taken those cushions out from behind me! It was a huge weekend the other weekend, because we had Natalie, Zoran and Erica in Hobart, as well as Claire, Mick and Jamie - we did lots of eating out! On Friday the 14th November, I sat myself up for the very first time, while I was at Nan G's, but then I left it a few days before doing it again!

The first step to mobility, of course, was sitting up all by myself without falling over!

Dad taught me this trick.........

I roll myself over in bed all the time now - this was really comfy, believe it or not!

We had great fun with Erica at Salamanca Market. We finished the morning by watching the Pipe Band.

This was Mummy's jacket. Nanny G's Auntie Dencel made it for her when she was a baby!

My first yoga posture!

But yoga is so tiring....

Maybe I'll just read a book!
I am so nearly crawling, btw...................I can do it all, but now I need to string a few paces together! I bumped my head yesterday, but then I amazed Mum and Dad by pulling myself up to stand using Mummy's knee while she was trying to comfort me!

I love swings and slides!

Look at my teeth!!!!
It was all back to normal once our visitors left, so I had to find a new look to keep Mummy and Daddy interested.........I'm not sure they liked it, so I experimented with some new sounds, too! I can do "da-da" and "tha" as well as my "ma-ma"s and "ba-ba-ba"s.

Say Aaaahhhhh!
I sleep in my Grobag now, because Mummy said I moved around too much in my cot when I woke up (I think she likes sleeping in, personally).
Swimming is coming along...........well, swimmingly! I can kick my legs, and love going underwater, and leaping off the side of the pool (I do need lots of help with the leaping bit!)

I can sit up all by myself now, but Mummy and Daddy always think I'm going to fall over, and put cushions behind me - they're good for when I get tired though.

I play pretty hard sometimes, you see.

And sometimes, I prefer to stand than sit.......only for a little while though!

Last weekend, Mum and Dad took me to a play park, and I had my first swing (excellent fun), and my first slide (a bit hairier, but fun too!).

I've had lots of new foods in the last couple of weeks - chicken and beef (not so keen, they feel weird), lentils, butter beans, and egg yolk! Yum! I'm also getting better at drinking from my sippy-cup, but it's also a pretty good toy!

I'm a great tour guide!

I love having visitors!!
My pal Molly came to play with me last weekend (she also brought her Mum, Ruth, and her Dad, Danny)! Last time we met, we were both so tiny that Molly was still in hospital! We had great fun showing each other our favourite toys,

and singing songs in the car for our Dads!

On Saturday, we had our parents shop for clothes for us at Salamanca Market, then we went swimming, and after that we went on a picnic at Richmond, by the Coal River. It was a big day, luckily the grown ups had Pineapple Lumps to sustain them when Mummy's car broke down!

I even got to ride on Dad's shoulders for ages.

On Sunday we all went for breakfast, then back to Richmond to visit the Model Village, and introduce the visitors to National Pies!

Aren't we a handsome group??

Rolling around is still fun! I can't move forwards yet, but I can reverse under the coffee table! My other new trick is getting out of my blankets and being on my tummy when Mum and Dad come to get me up in the morning. But I like lying in bed when I wake up, la-la-ing and being generally cute. My teeth are coming along well, too, and are really quite sharp!
I was a bit miserable yesterday as I've got my first real cold, poor little me!
Next week, I am 8 months old!

I have a tooth!!

Wow, so much happens so quickly these days!
Mummy, Daddy and I started swimming lessons on Grand Final Day - it's the best fun! I even went underwater! Afterwards we visited Uncle Matt and Auntie Bron's to watch the footy, and Grace was at a party, so Lucy got to play with me all afternoon (I decided I did not wish to sleep after swimming)! We've had three lessons now, and I'm getting really good at kicking!
I'm ready for Summer!!
Friday the 3rd Oct was the first time I rolled over from my back to my tummy more than once in a day! A few days later I could roll all over the place!! Nappy changes are great fun to mess with Mummy and Daddy now!!
Zzzzzzzzzzzz........................
Last Monday, Mummy noticed a little translucent area on my gum on the left, and by Tuesday evening, there was a little tooth! It hasn't worried me too much, so far! There's another one on it's way, too!
I love my food - banana and yoghurt is my favourite lunch, and pumpkin and potato is my favourite dinner, especially with pear for dessert!

I'm so excited that I get to see Molly again on Friday! She and her Mum and Dad are coming to visit, all the way from Sydney! I can't wait!

What a big couple of weeks!!

Oh Gosh, I have had a big last couple of weeks!!

I had my jabs and my 6 month check-up on September 1 - and I was 7.03kg, and 70cm long! Wow! On the same day, Mum and Dad bought me my new car seat, and I went home in it!

I was pretty suspicious of it at first, but now I go soundly to sleep, or just sit up and look at everything!

Actually, I can sleep pretty well anywhere!
Daddy was sick after coming home from his work trip (at least he remembered my present!), and slept all through my buddies coming over to play! We took a new photo so we can see how much we've all grown! He came out with us to see Lucy in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' at her school, even though he still felt sick! He was still a bit sick on Father's Day, but we had a nice Daddy-Daughter day anyway.

How come Chloe and I don't have any hair?

On Wednesday September 3 I had my first solid food!! I started with my rice cereal, and now I've had Prunes, Cauliflower, Sweet Potato and Broccoli as well! I wonder what's next??
Last Friday, Grace and Lucy came over to help Mum look after me, which was great fun - we played all day (except for my nap time).

They fed me my rice cereal and then my sweet potato for tea

and at the end of the day, I was so tired I fell asleep on Lucy's knee!

Now I'm bigger, when we go to a cafe, I get to sit in my own seat!
